Yang Changji is a well-known scholar and a patriotic, democratic and progressive educator in both China and Western countries in contemporary China , who is a key figure indebted to the front getting up at the modern times like "handing down like the fire-wood " from the third to the fifth talent group. He spared no effort to promote the physical education all his life in China, explaining his unique concept about physical education. The author made some research on Yang Changji by using literature studies, field surveys, interviews with experts and logical analysing and so on. Also we conducted a comprehensive and objective review about Yang Changji's speech and educational practice to explore, to understand and search for the underlying causes to explore the P.E. cognitive situation and the values of modern intellectuals in Hunan. through inspection at the large number of related documentation to recover the three causes of physical education that Yang Changji thinks of family, culture, times. Summarizing Yang Changji's six ideas and points of view on physical education: "On the purpose of physical education, methodology, status, course structure, performance theory, moral theory ", analyzing systematically and summarizing Yang Changji's Collected Works and words and ideas about physical education.Besides, this chapter gave a preliminary explanation of ideological integrity , advanced, interactive features and level of physical education. Clarifying the influences of Yang Changji's physical education thinking on development of modern education, young Mao Zedong's ideas about P.E. and historical contribution towards the development of P.E.in school history, analyzing Yang Changji's limitations.to Physical Education as well.
