The society today is a study-oriented society,and life long education is an important education idea that is advocated by this society. In order to meet the society' s need for person of ability,with the new reform of lessons,China has institute "guideline for PE lessons of General University" The new lessons encouraged students to study by themselves,advocates self-evaluation and Self-examination.Students who have a good ability of self-evaluation could understand themselves better,have a more complete development of characteristics,and help to form a life-long exercise habit.Using the method of literature searching,questionnaire,interviews of experts,statistics and so on,the research made a deep analysis of the reform of volleyball education in Beijing' s general universities, and studied the application and effecting factors of self-evaluation in university students' volleyball lessons.The results were as follows:1 In the background of new lessons and reform of teaching,the applied researches of self-evaluation gained more and more attentions from experts and teachers.In the research we saw that the general universities in Beijing attached importance to carry out the 'guideline'.The universities paid much attention to students' self-evaluation.However, problems and difficulties still remained in the practices.2 Students choosing volleyball lessons had many interests in the lessons, they bad to some extent good self-evaluation abilities.However,the idea and levels of the evaluation could be better.The will of the students that their evaluations could be put into the final evaluation of the lesson was contradicted to the reality.3 The evaluations of the students were not overall.They should pay more attention to the evaluation of social adaptation and affect attitude, so that the best effect of the PE education could he showed.The students also showed lacks in the self-evaluation of skills,which is of some difficulty.4 Nowadays,the volleyball lessons in universities had little to teach, and were lack of systematical plans,the students had little theoretical knowledge.Some modern multimedia skills were not fully used in the lessons.All the above situations to some extent restricted the students' self-evaluation abilities and applications.5 The factors which affected the students' self-evaluations were in many different directions.Subjective factors such as students' interests and motivations,and objective factors such as teaching methods,models and instruments were all affecting factors.These factors also interacted with each other.
