| The purpose of the Bologna process to make academic degree standards and quality assurance standards more comparable and compatible throughout Europe and to create a European Higher Education Area by 2010.The Bologna Declaration has put in motion a series of Bologna process, and every second year the Ministers meet to measure progress and set priorities for action.After the Bologna Declaration,further governmental meetings have been held in Prague(2001),Berlin(2003), Bergen(2005) and London(2007).From the Bologna Declaration to the London Communiqu(?),the main reform of Bologna process for the membership is:adoption of a system of easily readable and comparable degrees,adoption of a system essentially based on two cycles,establishment of a system of credits,promotion of mobility,promotion of European co-operation in quality assurance, promotion of the European dimension in higher education,focus on lifelong learning,inclusion of higher education institutions and students,promotion of the attractiveness of the European Higher Education Area,doctoral studies and the synergy between the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area.The thesis mainly discusses the progress of Bologna process from Bergen Communiqu(?),analyses the challenges faced by Bologna process and forecasts the trends of Bologna process.The whole Paper is divided into 5 sections.Section 1:introduce the reason why the author chooses such a topic and the recent research on Bologna process in and off China since Bergen Communiqu(?).Section 2:introduce the background and the development of Bologna process.
