Since 1950s, European integration has been continuously expanded and deepened, from the beginning of the Economic Community to the political and military alliances, whose next step is to be more profound social integration. To promote the full realization of European integration based on the European economic, political and military integration, in June 1999, the Ministers responsible for higher education of 29 European countries jointly signed the "Bologna Declaration", which aims to build the "European Higher Education Area", and initiated the process of European integration of higher education. At the turn of the century, the Bologna process, with the goal to create a common European Higher Education Area has received much concern. With constant advancing of the process, it has become a hot topic in the education circle of European countries, and attracted more and more domestic scholars' attention. However, it is a continuous reforming process and need to be perfected gradually, so the domestic research in this area is far from systematic and in-depth.This study carries out comprehensive and systematic analysis from the dimension of time with the developing history of Bologna process, and the dimensional of space with three-level case studies of European, national and university. It is divided into six main parts: Partâ… is the background analysis of the Bologna process, Partâ…¡describes its development history, Partâ…¢expounds the main achievements of the process after London meeting, Partâ…£is the main analysis of selected specific cases at three levels, Partâ…¤sums up the remarkable achievements and focuses on the analysis of faced challenges, Partâ…¥summarizes some useful reference for China's higher education through the analysis of the European Higher Education Area construction experience and the actual situation of China's higher education. On the basis of the domestic scattered information, with extensive reading of references and translation of the European official information, foreign papers and periodicals, this study adopts the literature analysis, case analysis, comparative study etc. methods, so as to generalize the formation and development thread of Bologna process, analyzes and concludes the achievements and problems. It is no longer an introduction in the surface level, but a rich, vivid, three-dimensional description and discussion, in order to present the essence of the integration of European higher education really and systematically. Readers can understand the Bologna process more authentically, amply and comprehensively, grasp the overall development situation of the European higher education, thus ponder over a number of key issues of European higher education and China's higher education under the internationalization context.
