The Existing Problems And The Suggestions In The Calisthenics Teaching Of Higher Education In Shanxi Province

Calisthenics is a popular international calisthenics by integrating music,gym,body training and performance,which is featured with both cultural recreation and physical competition acting as a good way for body training and sentiment cultivating.Because of its great value and charm,calisthenics has become fashionable throughout the world.The students are fond of calisthenics in that it could be used to take exercise and shape the body and thus combine the benefits of being healthy and beautiful.During the past 20 years,with the development of educational system reform,it has been discussed by the calisthenics researchers how calisthenics teaching at universities would dvelop and how to nurture the high-level innovative talents.Based on the national and international literature on calisthenics teaching,pedagogics,curriculum theory,etc.,this paper analyse the existing problems of calisthenics teaching in Shanxi Province by means of literature references,questionnaires,logic analytic method,statistics and interviews.The statistics involve calisthenics teaching situations at the thirteen most representative universities in Shanxi,ans the questionnaires are specially designed to collect the data like calisthenics faculty,teaching facilities,contents,methods,modes,comments on calisthenics teaching and outdoors calisthenics activities.The findings of the paper include the following aspects:the calisthenics teaching of higher education in Shanxi is developing,and the teaching contents,methods and modes are quite dull;there is no scientific teaching assessment system;the faculty are of lower speciality quality;the teaching facilities are not satisfying;and not enough attention has been paid to the outdoors calisthenics,and so on.The paper is intended to search the obstacles in the way of calisthenics teaching development of higher education in Shanxi,and further suggestions are made to deal with the problems by taking consideration of modern education theory and the features of universities in Shanxi.It aims at enriching the calisthenics teaching contents,improving its methods,reforming the calisthenics educational mode and bettering the teaching assessment system.
