The purpose of this study is to provide a theoretical basis on the evaluation and prevention of osteoporosis by discussing the relations between bone mineral density(BMD) and body composition,BMD and muscle force at the end of youth students.Students of physical education 99(48 boys,51 girls) and non-exercise students 107(47 boys,60 girls) were measured.Calcaneal BMD was measured by quantitative ultrasound (including Speed of sound,broadband ultrasonic attenuation,quantitative ultrasound index,bone mineral density).Body composition was measured by bioelectrical impedance analysis(including body weight,lean body mass,mass of body fat,percent of body fat,body mass index,mineral,etc.).Muscle force was measured by equipment of physical fitness testing(including grip,back strength,standing long jump).The main results of this study are as follows:(1) The system physical training has the good promotion to the college student bone mineral density, exercise may cause distinct enhancement in the calcaneal BMD.Exercise may promote the same increase of bone mineral density in male and female students.There is no significant difference in bone mineral density between the specialized male and female students.(2) The difference in calcaneal BMD between the exercise and the non-exercise students is not correlated with student's diet custom and habits customs,and is mainly associated with their physical training degree and exercise custom caused by the specialized difference.(3) There is the good promotion for college student's body composition with exercise.Exercise may enhance lean body mass content in the body composition and reduce the percent of body fat.The regular exercise in the youth may play a favorable role in promoting lean body mass,reducing mass of body fat and increasing bone mineral density.(4) The calcaneal BMD in physical education students is associated with their lean body mass in the body composition,but there are little correlation with mass of body fat and percent of body fat.The body weight is an important factor on female student's calcaneal BMD.The calcaneal BMD in female students is associated with their body weight.(5) The calcaneal BMD is closely associated with the male students' lower limb strength through the system exercise,and counterpart's back strength without the SYstem exercise.Although lean body mass can be changed by exercise and muscle force can be increased,there is little correlation between muscle force and calcaneal BMD for female students.
