Theory of Learning Style is origin from educational psychology,and is discussed under the circumstance of school education.The research orientations include cognition style,learning style,net education and language study based on learning style,match of learning style and teaching style and so on.But adult education,especially the on-the-job learning,is a new direction for learning style research,and related positive researches appear in recent years.The core of this research is to explore dimensionality of on-the-job learning style.It tries to collect and filter items strictly according to practical situation,consult related research results in the country and abroad as reference,and compile the information into On-the-job Learning Style Questionnaire and School Learning Style Questionnaire with favorable reliability and validity. Further more,it tests on-the-job employees and students on campus chose by random sampling approach,analyzes the survey data,explore and validate dimensionality of on-the-job learning style,and compare with dimensionality of school learning style.It could be a theoretical reference for enterprises and human resource management staff to improve the performance and design training courses.This study contains six parts.First,it introduces background,aim and significance of the study.Second,it summarizes learning style theory and status of related research.Third,it explains frame,procedure,methods of the study and methods of composing the questionnaire. Fourth,it analyzes the survey data and concludes the dimensions of school learning style are intuitive-analytic,visual-verbal,random-system,active-reflective;the dimensions of on-the-job learning style are reflective-observational,individual-share,sequential-random,intuitive-analytic. This result further proves the forecasted model of on-the-job learning style from research of the related literature.Fifth,it analyzes distinction in every dimensions of learning style under different demographic variables treated by ANOVA test.Sixth,it illustrates every dimension of both school learning style and on-the-job learning style,and points out the innovation and weakness of this study as well as prospect of future research.
