The term of immigrants in Beijing who was born after 1980 has been gradually recognized as the young generation of well-educated migrants, the living conditions of whom do not only affect the whole group's quality of life, value concepts as well as the social psychology, but are also directly associated with series of issues surrounding the stability and development of our society. Rested on relevant literature reviews, this paper proposes the proposition that studying the living conditions of the immigrants in Beijing born after 1980 mainly implies an in-depth observation and analysis on how they have adapted to the regions where they migrate to. Depending both on the international migration theory and the empirical analysis, this thesis generalized the framework of social integration theory into three dimensions: the level of economic adaptation, the level of social adaptation, and that of psychological adaptation. To be concrete, the economic adaptation constitutes the primarily basic living element for the migrants; the social adaptation reflects the scope how these migrants have adapted to their social lives; finally the psychological adaptation is the sign of migrants'truly adapting to the regions they moved to.Based on this theoretical framework, this paper has adopted a qualitative research methodology--individual interviews, aiming to analyze the economic adaptation social adaptation and the psychological adaptation displayed among the livings of immigrants group; and further to discuss whether current living conditions of this group could be able to provide favorable economic and social basis for their livings, stable personal development, social cohesion and homogeneities. The findings of this research reveal that their economic and social adaptations are positioned at a high level, whereas the level of psychological adaptation is relatively in a lower position. Therefore, in the process of social integration the immigrants born after the 1980 is right at the step of'pre-civilization'. Meanwhile, the primary reason why this group was marginalized lies in the pre-existing systems and policies directed by social-control theories. Their light emotional inclination towards Beijing tends to be another factor influencing the process of'civilization'. Thus, in order to improve the living conditions of this particular group, efforts must be combined both from the aspect of promoting system and policy reforms and that of reinforcing the emotional integration of this group at the overall level.
