| The course of teachers' professional development is the improving course of teachers' professional quality. Teachers professional quality includes knowledge, skill and attitude, and teachers' professional self is a kind of professional attitude. There are few studies on teacher' s self, so this paper aims at showing the result of the research on teachers' self based on both theory and practice.This paper presents the problems existed in teachers' self and also points out where the reasons lie through the relevant reports and by combing the survey and interview. Useful suggestions are also given on teachers, schools and teaching administration.In the part of the research on theory , this paper reveals the definition and structure of teachers' professional self , and tells the meaning of it and analyzes the complications affecting the teachers' professional self.In the part of the research on practice, this paper adopts questionnaires, interviews to survey the problems of teachers ' professional self. The findings of questionnaires of 347 teachers and interviews of 12 teachers from four different high schools are as follows: there' s no obvious consciousness of teachers' professional self , and there still exist the role conflicts. Teaching efficiency and motivation are not enough. Moreover, the approach of the teachers' professional development programming is lacking. This paper analyzes why these problems come out from three aspects: individuals, schools and social environment.In the end , based on the research this paper points out that creating the cultural atmosphere of teachers improvement at schools is an effective way of promoting teachers' professional self. Education administration departments should also pay more attention to teachers' professional self. |
