Higher vocational education, as an important component in Chinese higher education system, has achieved tremendous development. It provides the society lots of hi-tech skilled workers, as well as satisfies part of personals' demand for higher vocational education. While personal demand for higher vocational education is a great impetus to the development of higher vocational education. Although a part of students' demand for higher vocational education is colored by uncertainty and having no choice, because of the social traditional ideas and people's one-side understanding to higher vocational education, some students exhibit the demand for higher vocational education. Surely, many factors influence the personals' demand for higher vocational education, on the basic of by consulting other related researchers' results and theories, this paper analyzes the main factors that the personals' demand for higher vocational education form four aspects: personal aspect; family aspect; educational institute aspect and social aspect. By investigating two respective object groups: students in higher vocational institutes and students about to be graduating from high-schools, the research discovers that the main factors influencing personals' demand for higher vocational education are the future profit of high education; parents' educational degree; the need for hi-tech skilled workers for social development; student's interest/talent/ability; and the disadvantages in the development of higher vocational education. So, in order to stimulate personal demand for higher vocational education, we must take actions to impel the development of higher vocational education consistently and healthily from those disadvantageous factors to change social biased views even wrong views to higher vocational education; to strengthen governmental assistance; to improve surroundings for higher vocational education development; and to cultivate good inter and outer conditions.
