As the development of society and mathematics subject, it's imperative under the situation for Mathematics Curriculum Reform. It's well-known that between sixty years and seventy years New Mathematics movement in foreign countries began vigorously, but it failed in the end. One of the most important reason for which was that it lacked gradual process and filled with too many new things in middle school, many teachers and students felt it arised suddenly and couldn't accept it. On the other hand, Mathematical Olympiad, as the upper levels of basic education movement, can not only discover and cultivate genius, but also help to mathmatics popularization, it plays an importment role on Middle School Mathematics Curriculum Reform, including contents, thoughtway and teachers' diathesis. At the same time, Mathematics Curriculum Reform certainly will bring some impulsion and effect on Mathematical Olympiad. So, in order to advance the development of Mathematical Olympiad and afford some theories and gists for Mathematics Curriculum Reform , the author think that it's necessary to do the research on the relationship between Mathematical Olympiad and Middle School Mathematics Curriculum Reform.The first chapter of the literature introduced the research background, the research significance, the research method and so on. Through the critical review of the literature, the second chapter made comments on the visage of our country and other nations' Middle School Mathematics Curriculum Reform. The third chapter summarized Mathematical Olympiad origin and the development and the test question evolution, and through the critical review of the literature and questionnaire survey, the fourth chapter studied the status and importance of Mathematical Olympiad in mathematics education. The fifth chapter is the key chapter, through the cases, which systemically researched the positive effect of Mathematical Olympiad on Middle School Mathematics Curriculum Reform. Simultaneously, Mathematical Olympiad backgrounds in National Matriculation Entrance Test and Entrance Exam of High Schools were also researched in this chapter, as well as the first International Mathematical Olympiad test question. The last chapter discussed the impact and effect of Middle School Mathematics Curriculum Reform on Mathematical Olympiad.
