| Based on the definition of the Selected Passages, this paper differentiates the Social Reading Function from the Teaching Function, especially researches the character and the category of the Teaching Function from a static level, the diversity and exertion from a dynamic level, then points out the meaning of this research in theory as well as in practice. At the end of the paper, it discusses the directive use of the theory of Selected Passages' Function while it is used in Chinese-teaching.The text can be divided into three parts.The first part differentiates the concept of the Selected Passages from the concept of "Text" and the concept of "Selected Works". Then to define the Selected Passages. It indicates the importance of the Selected Passages in Chinese-teaching in the meantime.The second part studies the character, category, diversity and exertion of the Selected Passages' Function.Because the function of a Selected Passage is bestowed and uncertain, its Teaching Function becomes varied. It is this that makes so many problems to editors and teachers. These problems which come from editing of Chinese textbooks, choosing of content for teaching or moral education in Chinese teaching will be clear suddenly as long as they are brought under the research of the Selected Passages' Function.Considering the importance of teaching activity in the exertion of the Selected Passages' Function, at the third part of the paper,it stresses on the study of strategy for full exertion of the Selected Passages' Function when in Chinese teaching. It present that we must follow the choosing-principle and economy-principle when in teaching process.These two principles are reflected in the process of establishing teaching goals.They give teachers guides about how to deal with the Selected Passages freely. |
