With the arrival of knowledge economy and information age, the competition around the world is increasingly much fiercer. And it is just based on the training of talented persons. In the process of modern talents' training, many traditional teaching styles have not adapted to the need of training the talents. The present education in our country is based on the essential tenet of improving public quality. Thus, one of the important aims of elementary education reformation in our country is to improve students'scientific accomplishment and their scientific inquiring ability.The thesis is made up of six parts.The first part is about the background of putting forward the problems, analyzing the significance of scientific inquiry and the actualities of scientific inquiring research home and abroad.The second part makes a systematic exposition about the theory of pedagogy and psychology.The third part has a clear definition for scientific inquiry and scientific inquiring ability and the main factors and training targets of scientific inquiring ability.The fourth part makes an investigation of the current situation about students' scientific inquiring ability in Class 5 and 6, Senior 1 of QingLong No. 1 Middle School, HeBei Province. According to the statistical investigation, it gives an contrast analysis of students ' understanding about scientific inquiry, the ability to raise questions, the ability to put forward supposition, the ability to make practical plan, rethinking and evaluation, and communication and expression. There are eight aspects altogether.The fifth part combining some concrete teaching samples, I do some teaching practice research on five aspects: developing the students' consciousness of raising questions, the ability to suppose and imagine, the ability to do experiments and design, the ability to rethink and evaluate, the ability to co-operate and communicate.The sixth part gives a contrast analysis through the mid-term chemistry marks of the experimental class and comparative class, the interest in chemistry, the understanding of scientific inquiry and scientific inquiring ability. The results of the teaching practice show that the students in the experimental class get the higher marks, increase their interests in chemistry learning and improve their scientific inquiring ability. At the same time, this thesis points out the existing problems in the teaching practice of developing students' scientific inquiring ability, which should be further studied and solved in the future.
