A Study On Operation And Management Of Large Stadiums And Gyms In The U.S.

Large stadiums and gyms are substantial foundations for sports. Because of the huge amount of money for the construction, the long term of working, big risk for investment and high cost for maintains, it is hard and tough for managers and administrators to handle. In recent years, as the fast development of sports' level, people are more eager to enjoy high quality sports events and performance, the development of large stadiums and gyms are becoming increasingly fast. Meanwhile, there are lots of problems in the field of the stadium management in China. Such as: the market economy mode is immature, the stadiums are not efficiently used after sports event, the waste of money and human resources, etc.America as the most developed country in the world has a well-developed sports industry. Thus, this thesis focus on the investment, operation and management of the large American stadiums and gyms, on the basis of the its development mode features and experiences, by using the methods of comparison analysis, systemic analysis and logic analysis, thus seeking to find out the suitable development mode for China's large stadiums and gyms.There are four parts in this thesis:The first part introduces the history, present and types of the American large stadiums and gyms.The second part introduces the investment, operation and management modes of the U.S. large stadiums and gyms.The third part makes a comparison between China's large stadium and the American.The fourth part is the conclusion: First, the strong economy is the foundation of the U.S. large stadiums and gyms, the good international environment is its guarantee, multi-financial and mature marketing management mode is its main policy for development. Second, generally speaking, China's sports industry develops well; however, the construction, management and operation of the large stadiums and gyms are delayed because of some factors such as politics, economy and some other social elements. So take the advantage of the experiences of some developed countries like America according to the real condition of China will be the way to success of China's large stadiums and gyms.
