Fertility theory generally believed that the fertility intentions play an important and critical role to forecast trend of population, and the reduction of fertility is closely related to people's birth will, socio-economic development and values of people decided the ideal number of children. There is a potential assumption that fertility individual can basically realize their wishes of fertility, the gap between actual birth rate and ideal family size is little. However, the author found that low birth rate in major cities is not the result of their low birth will. Thus, the author began to study professional females' choice on procreation and the influencing factors.The dissertation is consisted of three chapters: Chapter one is the introduction of the thesis, including the research context,concept,research design. Chapter two offers a theoretical analysis for the thesis, taking professional females in Beijing as the interview subject and found some factors of individual's choice on procreation, such as individual impacts, family impacts and social impacts. Conclusions are drowned in Chapter three and some suggestions are also proposed.The followings are the main conclusions of the dissertation:First, there is a large gap between fertility intentions and fertility behavior of professional females' procreation choice in major cities, and the level of reproductive behavior is lower than the level of ideal fertility, but the actual birth rate is uncertainty.Second, the major factors of procreative choice include: fertility values, education period, the growth experience, economic pressures, work flowing and family support, and the actual reproductive behavior is the result of these complex factors. |
