A Study On Construction Of Harmonious University

Building a harmonious socialist society was put forward in the Fourth Plenary Session of the sixteenth Party Central Committee. Being an organic part in the society, university plays a significant role in the process of building a harmonious socialist society. Thus how to achieve harmony at university has become the focus for the university authority and the whole society as well. After a brief discussion of the background and significance of the building of a harmonious university, this thesis lays its focus mainly on three aspects. Firstly, this thesis elaborates the scientific meaning of harmonious university. On the basis of an extensive study of relevant discussion, the author proposes to take motion in Marxism as the viewpoint to interpret the harmony in university. It has been indicated that a harmonious university does not mean static perfection, but dynamic coordination. On the basis of the claim, the thesis generalizes features of a harmonious university——"Fairness, People-Foremost Orientation, Civilization, and Innovation". Besides, the thesis also puts forward the target of building a harmonious university at levels of strategic thinking, mode of management and strategy of educating. Secondly, after a comprehensive analysis, this thesis accounts for reasons for various inharmonious phenomena at university from perspectives of management system, social environment and ideological education. Thirdly, with reference to the target of building a harmonious university, this thesis also proposes feasible ways to reach the great goal. It is maintained in the thesis that building a harmonious university is virtually a process of persistently enhancing the reform at university. With scientific outlook on development being the guidance, a beautiful, secure and stable campus environment being the premise and building of modern university system being the basis, we must not only observe the"People-Foremost"principle and enhance the ideological and moral construction, but also cultivate a harmonious and elegant campus culture in order to realize the harmonious development of universities.
