Since China's policy of reform and opening up to outside world was adopted, there has been an increase in the recurrent population. This flow of personnel is also getting distinct in the profession of teachers. More and more talented high school teachers are migrating from the less advanced areas to the more advanced areas, which is becoming a mainstream trend of teacher outflow. The causes of this massive teacher outflow and impact exerted on the less advanced areas have already drawn broad attention in the academic circle. Based on the previous studies on adaptation of other migrating groups together with the data collected via a survey of 137 migrating high school teachers and 20 case studies, and under a theoretical framework of migration and social capital, this thesis probes into the adaptation status of migrating talented high school teachers in the new environment, exposes the difficulties they are confronting and discusses the reasons of their inadaptability and puts forward measures to improve this situation.
