The study on the system of current college entrance test for fine art majors is composed of three aspects: pre-education for college entrance test for fine art, testing contents, methods, scoring rules and standards of the entrance test and final enrollment standards, which supplement each other, are both cause and effect of each other and form a vicious circle and then finally cause the continuous fall of the quality of art candidates in Chinese higher learning schools. For quite a long time, pre-education for entrance test for fine art, including basic art education, has focused on technique training, ignoring both art theory teaching and art and humanity quality enhancing of educants. Testing contents are out of date, lagging far behind the current system of visual art knowledge throughout the world. Moreover, the test is operated through a single and outdated skill examine, which has limited the educants'feeling, imagination, judgement and shaping prospect ever since the primary art education stage. The testing method has never been improved for years, enrollment standards emphasis on specialized courses while make light of literacy courses, emphasis on art technique while make light of theory, both seriously disconnecting from quality improvement requirements for art higher education. In this sense, the current enrollment standards are consequentially inclined to emphasis on technique while make light of theory, emphasis on specialized courses while make light of literacy courses.
