Setting up the course of Morality and Society in primary schools is an attempt of curriculum reform in basic education of China at the beginning of this century. Compared to the course of Ideology and Morality in the past, Morality and Society is extremely stressed on the concept of life, which puts on classroom teaching high demand. Exploring the direction of teaching reform of Morality and Society has become an extremely urgent task.This paper is about an analysis of a lesson which is awarded in Shanghai by lesson studying and interviewing. By comparing teaching plan with teaching process, I have explored its successful teaching experience from which three teaching-reform directions of Morality and Society have been identified. The first one is to focus on development of students; the second one is to open teaching; and the last one is to lower density and speed of teaching. The further analysis in the three directions of reform shows that teachers should keep balance of scheduling and generating in their teaching.
