A Study On The Reform And Development Of Adult Higher Education Under The View Of Socialism New Rural Reconstruction

Building a socialist new countryside is an important historical task during modernization course in China. Its goal is expanded production, a better life, civilized village, neat rural areas, and democratic management. But the education degree of our rural population is not enough eight years, the comprehensive quality of the rural labor is low level, the production of agriculture is lag behind, the development of rural economy is also a slow growth, etc. So the resolution of issues concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers is the key of building a new socialist countryside, we must train a new type of farmers who are educated and understand both agricultural techniques and business management. Adult higher education is an important part of higher education in China, it has trained thousands upon thousands talents for our socialist construction. Along with the massive enrollment of regular higher educational institutions for years and the low demand of urban population for adult higher education, the living space of adult higher education has met with "cold current", educational resources of adult higher education has been pressed, the entrants of adult higher education is very difficult, the mark for matriculation of adult higher education lowers repeatedly, etc. For the sake of these reasons, adult higher education must seek new growth point of its development. The people what building new countryside are laborers who have been educated and trained. Adult higher education can foster different types of advanced talents for building new countryside. In view of above-mentioned reasons, this thesis will expound in the following five sections.The first section is the preface which states the background of the reasons for selecting the topic. Next it will introduce the development course and achievements of adult higher education in China, the numbers of adult higher educational Institutions and new entrants of adult higher education decreases rapidly year by year. At last it will analyse the relationship between building a new countryside and adult higher education.The third section is talking about "The demand for adult higher education in building a new countryside". It mainly elaborates what agricultural technology talents and management talented personnel do developing modern agriculture demand, we must improve the labor quality in training a new type of fanners and shifting of the surplus labor force in the countryside. If we carry about democratic management, we must improve the cultural quality and management ability of cadres in the countryside. We must create more chances for peasants' children, which will be the effective ways to narrow the education gap between urban and rural and building a harmonious society.The forth section is talking about "The current situation, existing problems and reasons of adult higher education in building a new countryside".
