A Comparative Study On Modern Distance Education In China And Developed Countries

As an important means of building life-long educational system, modern distance education is becoming more and more important in popularizing higher education on the world with the advent of information-based society. Using the methods of the comparison, the references and the investigation online, the article researches the history,present situation,the course and development of theory,the explore of practice of the modern distance education between China and developed countries, and summarizes the experience of developed countries in theory and practice of modern distance education. And then in accordance with the problem of carrying out modern distance education in China and using the advanced experience of developed counties for reference, the author tries to put forward some suggestions.The significance of the research lies in the constructive advice and measures drawn out of the comparison of the theory and practice of modern distance education in China and developed countries and the reflection on the problem of carrying out modern distance education in China.The initiative of the research includes two aspects as follows: firstly, the author makes a comprehensive and deep comparison on modern distance education between China and developed countries from the perspectives of theory and practice. Secondly, the author examines the current problems of modern distance education in China, and based on the experience of modern distance education of developed countries, the author gives some suggestion for modern distance education reform and development of China, especially, through the comparative researching of the quality assurance system,the student support services,faculty construction, which is full of innovative value.
