Research On The Development Of China's RTVU Education

The present society advocates life-long education. The modern distance education is showing its great vitality. As a main force in China's modern distance education system, the development of Radio and Television University (RTVU) has been drawing great attention in the education field.China's RTVU education has formed its own features and advantages of school running after developing for nearly 30 years. Compared with the practical development of RTVU education, there has been a relatively insufficient research on the theory of RTVU distance education in the education field, which cannot guide its practice efficiently and thus results in the lack of clear strategic orientation, blind practice of RTVU education and excessive reliance on the support of policies. With the expansion and application of computer network technology, RTVU education is facing a new opportunity as well as a new challenge.The essay classifies the phases of RTVU education development, expounds the features of school running of RTVU and existing problems of RTVU education development by means of literature, online survey and interview. Based on these problems, a preliminary research is done on the development strategy of RTVU education in the new era from the perspective of the functions of school running of RTVU education, characteristic orientation, system construction, management system reform and quality assurance of teaching.
