| Traditional way of teacher/student relationship, which is ossified and outdated, obstructs the development of education. It neglicts student dignity. Students were in passive position. They lacked of idividuality and creativity.Thus, this kind of leration wastes teaching resources and inhibits teaching efficiency. It uses oppressive way to impose control which is inevitably resisted by students. It is unfavorable for the development of individuality and the growth of productive and positive human beings.The research of the teacher/student relationship has been done considerably in our country. It emphasizes humanism, the value and individuality of human being.Through combination of concerned western research and Chinese cultural theory, we attempt to establish more practical, humanistic and progressive type of teacher/student relationship. It promotes the highest levels of human communication, invention, health, and well being. We are to change its irrational mode of teacher/student relationship and build harmonious one that is positively related to the student achievement and development of stable personality.Successful teacher/student relationship helps establish harmonious classroom environment that supports student learning and growth. |
