Human consumption with the appearance of human is the most ancient and necessary social activities and social behaviour , is the basic of social progress and development. Consumption are social activities coupling of economic and social cultural. With the continuous deepening of the globalization process, consumerism originating from the Western begin have widespread pervasion globally ,and have profound impact on the consumption of urban residents in China. So, there are more and more concern on the consumption conformation of urban residents in China in the academic community. In this study, by the sociological perspective, based on consumption of the social background of globalization, through literature and empirical analysis, detailed consumption in China under the influence of the characteristics of urban consumption patterns, and that the forecast and summed up the urban residents in China the new focus on the consumer consumption conformation and the development trend.This paper is divided logically into two parts. The first part is a theoretical analysis based on the research literature of the consumption and consumption conformation. The second part summarized the development of urban consumption patterns and trends, based on the empirical analysis about the consumption patterns of urban residents, though carrying out investigation and research and empirical analysis. Papers divided into six parts. The first part is introduction, include the proposing of main problem, the definition of the core concepts, literature review, and the shortcomings of previous studies, as well as the design of this study and research significance. The second part is the general theory of consumption analysis. In this part, papers discusses the origin of consumerism, concepts, as well as its characteristics, a brief description of the "cultural dominance" vision of consumer culture theory. The consumerism will be regarded as a consumer culture, and on its spread in China. The third part discusses consumption patterns from the consumption patterns and needs, consumption patterns and culture, consumption patterns, on sociological perspective. The fourth part is an empirical analysis of the consumer consumption patterns of urban residents under the influence of consumerism , based on Chongqing City District main investigations and studies. The fifth part hold the relevant conclusion on the basis of the empirical analysis, combining literature, and summed up the forecast of urban residents's new hot spot of the consumption, and the trend of the consumption patterns of urban residents; Part six include brief summary and thinking based on this research.
