[Purpose]: This paper tries to collect the first-hand information about the current condition of university teachers' personal accomplishment by questionnaires and then make a rational thought on the statistical analysis of results at the filling the gap in the empirical teachers' personal development.[Methodology]: This research is carried out philologically from the standpoint of caring about university teachers. The personal development of university teachers is defined as the process of enhancing personal accomplishment self-consciously, taking positive and effective action to improve the entironment and on the basis of making practical professional plans, making great efforts mentally and physically to realize the harmony between the professional development and the life value. Here "accomplishment", as a noun, refers to the long-term cultivated attitude and self-restraint conforming to social requirements. The course of enhancing accomplishment is the course of making personal to social requirements. The course of enhancing accomplishment is the course of making personal efforts to obtain the level and quality required by the expected aim, through learning and training on the foundation of certain accomplishment. This course regards consciousness as the guide, concept as the direction , way and state of the individual as one of the members of society when the individual distinguishes self from other members.In this paper, 329 university teachers in eight long-history universities in the Shanxi Province are sampled to complete the Questionnaire of University Teachers' Accomplishment which is made by the author. Then a statistical software, statistical package for the Social (SPSS 13.0) is used as a tool to make a statistical analysis of the collected questionnaire and the positive relativity between personal accomplishment and professional planning and life value.[Results and discussion]: First of all, the educational concept of university teachers needs refreshing and they are lacking in abilities in professional planning, temporal management and dealing with financial emergencies. Secondly, since the psychology accomplishment and information-comprehending accomplishment display a positive relativity with other accomplishment, they should be the core accomplishment of teachers. Thirdly, some of aspects such as educational concept ( including sympathizing accomplishment ) , academic accomplishment , lingual accomplishment , mental accomplishment , financial accomplishment, physical accomplishment and so on, score below the average and these aspects becomes the influential factors. Finally, the extent to which statistical variables influence personal accomplishment decrease in the order of title, professional planning and the management of university teachers and even determine the way teachers choose their own developing direction according to their background conditions and then maximize this development.[Conclusion] : university teachers' personal accomplishment contains three dimensions : healthy accomplishment , cultural accomplishment and educational accomplishment, and it is total 23 aspects. Besides, the Questionnaire of University Teachers' Accomplishment has high reliability and effectiveness. According to University teachers' personal accomplishment as a whole in Shanxi Province display a good condition. In particular, it shows that teachers are good at learning accomplishment, but should make more efforts in managemental accomplishment and the aspect of family responsibility.Based on the above results, the author suggests that university teachers establish the appropriate life value, programming the rational professional career and enhance personal accomplishment actively and forwardly in order to reach the harmony between the personal development and professional development. |
