The 21st century is times when information is highly developed, and times characterized by drastic changes and prominent renovations. These changes bring forward new requirement for the personnel the universities produce, that is: the students should have the ability which can cope with the future's changes of life and work independently. The limit knowledge they acquired in university is far from enough.At the same time, China's higher education have historically developed into the popularization of higher education in 2002. How should the university respond to them when they encounter those changes mentioned above? Under this condition, research-based learning becomes the research hot spot in educational circle, and offers a new idea for teaching reform in universities, high schools and elementary schools. As a instructional model of research-based learning, project study also gets its concern in universities gradually.The dissertation analyzes project study from two aspects of theory and practice in detail. As for the theory aspect, the author mainly analyzes the six elements of project study and its reasonability and feasibility when it carried out in universities, and compares this instructional method with other traditional teaching models. As for the practice of project study, by taking Roskilde University in Denmark as a case, the author describes the context the method adopted, the specific step and the whole process and the effect as well. In the end, the author gives a brief evaluate of the study project.By means of analyzing the project study, the dissertation argues that project study is not only feasible in theory but also exercisable in practice. Due to the difference of the situation of a country and the culture context, we can not copy the pattern of Roskilde University directly. However, it would be advisable for us to acquire the inspiration from the successful practice of Roskilde University , which have important significance for China's teaching reform in universities.
