Recently, scientific literacy has been paid attention to by researchers who work on science education and science popularization, and has been their primary matter. Countries all over the world have actualized some reformations about science education, aiming at training people's scientific literacy. After 2000, many countries started investigation research on teachers'scientific literacy, but most of these investigations were about teachers in elementary and secondary school, ignoring teachers in kindergarten. Our country has promulgated Program of Preschool Education (trial), which aiming at training the children's scientific literacy partly, and the kindergartens have been practicing reformations to get the aim. But during this process, all people who work on science education have paid attention to children mostly, ignoring teachers. Children can form high scientific literacy only by teachers who have high scientific literacy. So, this research investigated the preschool teachers'scientific literacy using questionnaire, to know the preschool teachers'scientific literacy in the city of Dalian. The results show :1. Except science knowledge, science method and attitude has significant difference between different academic levels; 2. Preshool teachers'scores of three dimensionalities of scientific literacy have significant difference between different ranks, but the score in all has no difference; 3. Preschool teachers'scientific attitude has significant age difference; 4. Preschool teachers, scientific attitude and scientific literacy scores have significant difference on teaching age; 5. Preschool teachers'science knowledge, science method and scientific literacy scores have significant difference between city and country; 6. Preschool teachers'science knowledge, method and scientific literacy scores have significant difference between public and private kindergarten. After the investigation, the researcher interviewed some teachers, and summarized some teachers'self-reflection texts, the results show that special train and participating in research are effective approaches to advance preschool teachers'scientific literacy. According to the results and the preschool teachers'situation in Dalian, the researcher gave some advices. 1. Reinforce the teacher train, normal schools should practice reform about the course system and teaching method, and the administration should reinforce the teachers'on-job train;2. Reform the teacher evaluation system, form appraisal system for professional development; 3. Promote the development of scientific literacy of teachers in country kindergarten; 4. Promote the development of scientific literacy of teachers in private kindergarten; 5. Make preschool teachers to form the idea of lifelong learning.
