A Study On The Running Mechanism Of College In Higher Education Institution

With the development of China's higher education, the administrative organic college has being become common tendency during the course of transformation of higher education institution. British higher education embodies the advantages and characteristics of institutional management due to its hundreds of years'college tradition. This study focuses on the running mechanism of college in Chinese higher education institution through studying the practice in UK. Adopting document-analysis method, this study consists of following points: Firstly, I expound three basic theories of studying the running mechanism in higher education institution. They are theory of organic structure, of organic administration and of organic rules and regulation. Secondly, I put forward the system of the running mechanism of higher education institution on the base of analyzing its structure, characteristics and function. Thirdly, I study the present state of the running in both Britain and China and point out the former enlightenment to the latter by means of historical way, comparative law and investigation. The major view can be summed up as following:In the introduction, I lay particular emphasis on such essential prerequisites as the cause of study, the definition of study objective, the basic theory, the present state of the running mechanism in UK and china, and the exposition of the basic content and train of thought in this study. In Part One, I lay particular emphasis on the analysis of the running mechanism of higher education institution in terms of theory. To make the study objective more clear, firstly, I define the concepts such as institution of higher learning, college and university. Secondly, I put forward come prerequisites of study the running mechanism. In my point of view, studying the system of the running mechanism should be founded on the basis of the studying of the structure, characteristics and function of higher education institution. Lastly, I bring up the system of the running mechanism which consists of objective mechanism, motivation mechanism, development mechanism and decision-making mechanism.In Part Two, I lay particular emphasis on the running mechanism of higher education institution in UK. Firstly, I review British institutional tradition and analyze the related factors. Secondly, I sun up different patterns of the running mechanism. Thirdly, I make a brief analysis of the present state in British higher education institution from the angle of the system mentioned in Part One. Lastly, I sum up the motion in UK.In Part Three, I lay particular emphasis on the enlightenment of British running mechanism of higher education institution. Firstly, I briefly introduce the development of Chinese running mechanism, and analyze the existing problems, and then put forward countermeasures. Secondly, I draw the enlightenment such as giving full play to academic and running institutions to face the society, forming institutional culture to cultivate the characteristics of running school, tightening up the management and making clear the way of development, adhering to institutional management and coordinating the decision-making mechanism.In conclusion, I sun up the characteristics of the running mechanism of British higher education institution from the angle of the system of the running mechanism. Then I point out some points for attention in the enlightenment.
