| Virtual learning community is incontrovertible social cyberspace in which people can communicate and share information with each other; it plays an important role for our daily life in the digital age. The virtual learning community is a very powerful tool to meet the requirements of the education system, it can provide an open learning environment for people to share their knowledge and to learn the knowledge they want. Through this interactive learning structure, everybody can decide which course to learn, when to learn, and where to learn by oneself. Although the virtual learning community can bring us more convenience for our contemporary education, it still has some uneglectable malpractices, which are worth studying and improving.This thesis is divided into six chapters. The first part is the introduction, which include the origin, meaning and method of the research on the virtual learning community. The second part is the review of virtual learning community and its advantage in teaching and learning, based on the summary of the published research results all over in the world. The third part is the theoretical base of the research on the virtual learning community, like the analysis of the cognitive process of the knowledge, the review of the constructivism theory, the theory of Flander's Interaction Analysis System and the theory of teaching method. The forth part is the analysis of the teaching and learning behavior in the virtual learning community, the particular teaching and learning method under the virtual environment are studied in detail. In the fifth part, some suggestion about teaching in the virtual learning community was given. The final part is the conclusion. |
