Cooperative learning is a way of study, which was arisen in America in 1960s to 1970s, and now it is still widely used in many countries as a kind of teaching theories and strategy systems. In America, lots of researchers spoke highly of the cooperative learning. At the end of 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s, there began some research and experimentation of the cooperative learning in China and people got pretty good effects.Cooperation would be the main trend in the future. No matter the great difficult issues among the counties, or common individual work, study or life, they need cooperation. In order to adapt to the needs of the development of the society, it is essential to cultivate the students'sense, ability and spirit of cooperation. It is a must.In nowadays teaching innovation, the writer wants to change the malpractice of the traditional teaching, seek out a set of proper cooperative teaching mode and master this teaching way proficiently by doing this research, and consummates the theory of cooperative teaching through practice. The teachers could improve their teaching and theoretical abilities by practicing the cooperative learning teaching in the mathematics teaching of junior middle school while the students could change their minds to form the sense of cooperate and communicate. Thus the students could arise their interests of learning mathematics as well as develop their confidence, advance their grades and improve their peer relationship etc.The main research methods of this paper are: literature review, questionnaire, interview and statistic analysis.This paper has six parts.The first part introduces the literature, questionnaire, interview and statistic analysis. State the history of cooperative learning and present situation. Explain the reasons why the writer chooses to write such a paper and arise the purpose, tasks and ways of writing the paper.Part two reviews the definition of cooperative learning and relative theories. It combines all the theories such as teaching, the characteristics of junior middle school students and the teaching aims of mathematics teaching in junior middle school to analyse the necessity and feasibility of conducting the cooperative learning in junior middle school mathematics teaching, and explain its meaning.Part three introduce the ways of how to conduct the cooperative learning, the roles that the teachers play during the teaching and how to organize the cooperative learning.Part four states the process of the teaching of cooperative learning. Compare the lesson plans of the traditional teaching and the cooperative learning teaching. Demonstrate the process of cooperative learning teaching through a lesson plan.Part five analyses the effect of the experimentation. By doing the questionnaire survey and interview and analyzing the results of the experimentation, the writer draws a conclusion that the cooperative learning teaching can not only enhance the students interest of studying mathematics as well as the confidence, but also hasten the peer relationship of the students.Part six figures out some problems of teaching cooperative learning and countermeasures to them. Meanwhile the writer gives some advice on how to conduct the cooperative learning, which is teachers should change the old teaching idea gradually while the students should change the old study conception; teachers should inspire the student's study desire and motivation, especially the poor ones; begin with the simple content for the cooperative learning; make a practical group study goal.
