| Traditional hygienical exercise(THE) is a good way to prevent and treat diseases, which has been practiced and developed for thousands of years. It consists of physical and breathing exercises, five mimic-animal boxing, baduanjin, yijinjing, and Taiji boxing. THE has a great influence on Chinese people and it is an exercise that suitable to anyone in any physical condition because of its soft, harmonious way which is able to prolong man's life, while other forms of traditional hygienical exercise such as boxing, sword-playing, short spear, sticking, dragon-playing and lion-playing and dragon boat etc. just suit strong people because of its energetic action and fast movement, so it is suitable for older people and people with some diseases. Hence, THE is very common nationwide that most elderly city people do this exercise in the morning, nowadays even in many western countries, it is not uncommon. As a PE teacher in a Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I feel it's urgent to spread out THE. With the further performance of National Exercises, people become increasingly concerned about their health, THE as a great heritage has been cherished. With the development of the time and society, more and more people not only enjoy their lives, but also elevate their soul. THE has become the most important part of people's life. Health, longer life, entertainment, leisure activities comprised the main of life. With the purpose of serving people better, I make a careful analysis of different forms of THE in various region in China by reading THE papers and interviewing with the experts. By comparing the ages, sex, vocation, motivation and health of different groups, we can find our weak points and make an improvement for development of Traditional hygienical exercise. |
