| According to the current our realities of English teaching in middle school and considering the new English curriculum syllabus issued by the Ministry of Education , we have proposed a research project called construction and application of task-based English teaching model that is a kind of developing morphology of communicative teaching ideology .It transmits the basic concepts of language application into the classroom teaching approach with practical senses."Task", in a word, means doing things, in the course of which, the learner is always in the positive and active mental position. There is no doubt that the task-based approach is an advanced approach which can match the new standards of English curriculum in high school.In the period of over a one-term teaching experiment, we have constructed this teaching model in middle school based on the psycholinguistic perspective and socio-cultural theory and socio-constructivism. Task-based English teaching model refers to a model in which on the purpose of improving students' comprehensive language skills especially communicative abilities, the teachers design all kinds of tasks according to the specific communicative aims and language items, and let the students learn the knowledge of English and practice the language skills while doing the tasks .Based on the analysis of experiment data, we have drawn the following conclusions after teaching experiment. 1. Great progress in reading and writing; 2.Improve interests in learning English and plan their English studies better than before; 3. No improvement on students' listening skills and there is no obvious change in the aspects of studying independence and studying perseverance.It is a try-out effort to introduce task-based language teaching model into junior English classes. Undoubtedly,there are some points to be improved and problems to be solved, such as the difference between results of long-term experiment and short-term experiment, the improvement of questionnaire about English learning attitudes, the problem about design and arrangement of tasks and so on. |
