Mathematics understanding is the key to obtaining mathematics knowledge, which is the beginning and distilling point for students to develop a variety of abilities. Mathematics understanding has already become another important topic in the field of current mathematics education.According to the study of our current teaching and learning situation, as well as our mathematics observation and introspection, this article attempts to illustrate the importance of mathematics understanding for the middle school students, using the related psychology theory, and proposes the teaching strategies promoting the mathematics understanding for the middle school students.Firstly, this article proposes the topic of mathematics understanding through the mathematics learning of the middle school students, and analyzes its research background and significance, as well as the present situation of carrying on the research. Thus it can find out problems and establish the idea of this research subject.Secondly, this article carries on theory summary to mathematics understanding, and defines its meaning, and points out the relationship between mathematics studying and mathematics understanding, and analyzes the obstacles and mechanism of mathematics understanding, and it will also promote the teaching countermeasure of the middle school student s' mathematics understanding.Finally, this article also points out that the teaching of mathematics understanding must rise to how to cultivate mathematics views. The author thinks that the mathematics view reflects the teachers' teaching view and the students' studying view to a certain degree. Also, the scientific mathematics view promotes the ability of mathematics understanding better. Therefore, it can finish the leap from the understanding of mathematics knowledge to understanding mathematics, so as to stimulate students' interest in studying mathematics, to outburst the enthusiasm of applying mathematics to the great extent, to promote the students' innovation abilities and mathematics integrating capabilities and so on.
