High education in our country has kept rapid development recently, and has undergone the shift from elite-orientation to common-orientation. With the increase in the enrollment of colleges and universities, job-hunting after graduation is a key issue, which concerns the development and stability of society, and each family as well. The successful introduction of"Mutually Choose and Independently Decide"concept provides more choices and independence for graduates when they are looking for jobs. In addition to the contrast between the traditional job-hunting ideas and the new one and relocation of themselves in terms of their life value, the concept also brings about some new problems. Therefore, what is facing us is to know the change in their choices and help them with the establishment in terms of job-hunting and their values.Since people live in society, which is composed of people, their outlook on the world, life and value is established in the process of practice. One's outlook depends mainly on his belief. The choice between Materialism and Idealism and that between Atheism and Theism will exert great influence on individual's future life. College students, living in certain social relations, unavoidably will be influenced by outside factors. Once their views on future jobs, evaluation and realization of their values are testified by social practice, they will cop a new attitude, thus a new idea on job-hunting.Job-hunting idea is one's knowledge, evaluation, attitude and tendency towards a certain occupation. It does not only directly reflect a job-hunter's views the job, but also expresses his outlook on life and value. Engels said that those who act in social-historical fields are conscious, able to think and pursue a certain goal; nothing is intention with no consciousness or predicted purpose. In other words, people's social activities are controlled and directed by their thinking. As a product in a certain historical situation, job-hunting idea, belonging to the category of social consciousness and, changes with the development of such factors as social economy. The job-hunting idea of college students, an essential part of their outlook on values, is the attitude towards society and occupation. It has two premises, demand and self-awareness, with the former being the premise to form outlook on values and the latter the subjective conditions. Together with the development of job-hunting outlook, social demand and self-consciousness form the relations of mutual restraining and utilization. Within the relation of restraining, complementarily and correlation, social demand and self-consciousness develop a sort of tension with each other. Social demand could not eliminate self-consciousness; conversely, self-consciousness could not eliminate social demand either. If one side gets rid of the other, there is no need to mention the so-called tension. So the job-hunting idea of graduates, driven by the demand and directed by self-awareness, is formed in their job-hunting process. Job-hunting ideas vary from person to person, due to the limit in people's knowledge in society and the difference in people's social values, moral values and concepts of life. As a result, job-hunting idea is characterized by its sociality, times, practicality, relative stability and individual difference.Value in philosophy is abstract and argumentable, while that in reality, which exists in people's daily life and activities, is vivid, thus being the standard to position themselves and make judgments. As far as college students are concerned, job-hunting idea is the criterion to measure their outlooks on life and value. So the right ideas of job-hunting could tap their potentials and positively lead their efforts to future professions, and the realization of their own values is based on that of the social values. As Marx said in Youth Thinking on Choosing Occupations, if we choose the job that will serve for the human beings, we will not be overwhelmed by hardships because we devote for all; the happiness and joy we gain is infinite and selfless and belongs to all because our cause will last permanently though imperceptibly; faced with our ashes, those with noble minds will be moved to tears.College students are influenced by the traditional job-hunting system, market economy, hunting policies and the backward job-hunting ideas when choose occupations, so they favor economically-developed areas or prefer big cities. In the process of formation, the idea of their job-hunting is not isolated, but affected and ruled by many factors. Our survey shows that college students are realistic and utilitarian. For example, they would prefer a bed inside Beijing to a house outside Beijing.Due to survival of the fittest in job-hunting process, some of the college students, unavoidably, can not find the right posts and are unemployed temporarily. There are two reasons: the influence from subjective factors, such as their poor qualities and high expectations for future jobs; and the influence from objective factors, such as the environment of economic development, demand in society and education in university. It is normal that some graduates remain unemployed temporarily because of the increasing number of college students. But the key is whether they can correctly face and evaluate themselves and make the corresponding adjustment in expectation for the future posts so as to find a job upon next opportunity.Job-hunting is directed by one's outlook on values. Although ideas on job-hunting are different, everyone longs for a good job. College students are no exception. On one hand, college students, realistic and social, cannot live if separated from society; on the other hand, they should not passively accept reality, but should actively adapt themselves to the reality and even dynamically change the reality. For them, to fully understand the relationship between man and reality, to know the rules of social development and objectively evaluate themselves is the basis to succeed in finding jobs.Universities and colleges are the main channels to train job-hunting ideas and the cradle to cultivate talents while society provides space to develop talents. The economic development of the society helps the development of students'self-awareness and the realization of their own abilities, but also fosters a multi-standard in students'evaluating life and choosing occupations. No matter what economic surroundings and job-hunting situations college students will be faced, they can definitely cope with severe competition and realize their own values as long as they keep calm, objective and sensible and be well equipped with knowledge, abilities and qualities.
