This research tends to explore the relationship of personality, coping style and jobperformance. 509 teachers from middle schools were measured by Big-Five personalityquestionnaire, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Teachers' Job PerformanceQuestionnaire. The results are the following: (1)The agreeableness and conscientiousnessof middle school teachers have the highest scores. The neuroticism has the lowest score;The teachers have higher scores than norm referenced score in active coping style, butlower in passive coping style; The teachers scored high in all dimensions of jobperformance and total job performance. (2)Different demographic factors such as gender,teaching ages, professional posts and educational background can have an influence onBig-Five personality, coping style and job performance in varying degrees.(3)Extraversion, openness to experience and neurotieism can predict active coping style.Agreeableness and neuroticism can predict passive coping style. (4)Conscientiousness canpredict all the dimensions of job performance, which is an important predictor to jobperformance; Extraversion can predict occupational morality, job dedication, teachingeffectiveness, teaching value and total performance; Active coping style can predict jobdedication, teaching effectiveness, interpersonal facilitation and total performance;Agreeableness can predict interpersonal facilitation; Openness to experience can predictoccupational morality; Neuroticism and passive coping style can't predict jobperformance.
