Job burnout is a kind of psychological syndrome produced by individuals in order to cope with the continuous pressure of work and interpersonal communication,which is embodied in three aspects: emotional exhaustion,depersonalization and low sense of achievement.The emergence of job burnout is a prominent hidden danger that restricts the construction of preschool teachers and hinders the steady development of preschool education.Under the influence of the particularity of the educated,the complexity of the work content,the strictness of the professional requirements,the lag of the educational achievements and the intensive public opinion,preschool teachers are prone to job burnout.How to effectively alleviate the job burnout of preschool teachers is the focus of the community.This study used the revised edition of "Preschool teachers’ job burnout questionnaire","Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory brief version" and "simplified coping style questionnaire" to investigate the overall situation of personality characteristics,coping styles and job burnout of 444 preschool teachers from Hangzhou,Zhejiang Province.At the same time,the mediating role of coping styles on the impact of personality characteristics on job burnout is analyzed,in order to provide some guidance for preschool teachers and kindergarten managers to prevent job burnout.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The job burnout of preschool teachers is not very serious as a whole,but the tendency of job burnout is obvious,and emotional exhaustion is most prominent.There are significant differences in job burnout among preschool teachers of different ages,years of teaching,marital status and professional title level.(2)There is a significant correlation between preschool teachers’ personality characteristics,coping styles and job burnout,and neurotic personality characteristics and negative coping styles positively predict the total job burnout,while pleasant and rigorous personality characteristics and positive coping styles negatively predict the total job burnout.(3)Positive coping styles play a part of mediating role between the various dimensions of personality characteristics and job burnout,and negative coping styles play a part of mediating role between neurotic personality characteristics and job burnout. |
