History has gone into a time when high technology and information are produced andtransmitted at a high speed. How to cultivate a new generation to be adapted for the timesefficiently and to meet the requirements of the future society is a new challenge that ourpresent education faces in the 21-century.So to tap the latent power of teaching and to reformthe out-dated teaching models and approaches are essential and urgent.Thus,a series ofquestions are worth studying carefully such as how to help students to form a correct attitudetoward study, and to develop their interests in history class,and to promote their all-rounddevelopment and so on. Harmony Teaching Approach is an effective way to accelerate thereform from the traditional"teaching for examination"to"Quality education".The approachis to employ the scientific and artistic method to create a relaxed and harmonious classroomatmosphere in which students can study more efficiently, and foster their all-rounddevelopment. The teaching approach lays stress on coordination between subject andobject,and their internal factors, to creat a harmonious beauty in mankind and nature, man andman to bring about the best effect.The paper theoretically further explores the significance,characteristics, principles and itstheoretical basis of Harmony Teaching Approach ,and emphasizes the necessity to adopt theapproach in history teaching, and further studies the effective strategies of HarmonyTeaching Approach in history class, and provides a relatively complete explanation infollowing aspects: build up a harmonious relationship between teachers and students, createa harmonious classoom atomsphere, and gain harmony in man,text and teaching method andso on. This paper aims to attribute some to reform inhistory teaching in middle school bycombination of theory and practice to make a new research achievement. At present, there aremany other teaching strategies in history teaching. My views in this paper are underdiscussion and need exploring further,but the author in the paper believes that the HarmonyTeaching Approach will play roles in history teaching.
