In the ancient times, the teacher is located in the system composed of "heaven" and "field" and "monarch" and "relation" and "teacher", this structure has ensured nation continuity and culture regeneration. Over the past modern times, with the effect of west's science and democracy, china's tradition culture is divided into pieces and teacher's function is declining! now the teacher as occupation have no way to bear the weight of cultural mission. Since 1990's, with our country comprehensive national strength and the international position lifting, Chinese rising abruptly, rejuvenation of the Chinese nation have gradually become a time's subject, thus it is the central task to call traditional culture return and pick up oriental culture confidence again. Under this kind of background, "teacher's principles return " should be solved firstly. So, the study of teacher's role is one of approach.Recently, the majority researches of teacher's role come from sociological theory, discussing the teacher's role from social structure and the social development angle, which result in the shortage of. the teacher's activity; Others is based on postmodernism and constructivism and multi-Intelligence, the teacher's independence is looked down; As for contents, surrounding a background of times, educational background, discipline background and concrete circumstances etc, they are either narrated grandly or discussed partly, the teacher's all-round development is weakened. Therefore, the study focuses on the teacher's role and teacher development with choosing tradition culture as clue.First, begin with role theory, comparing and analyzing role concepts, cleaning up a lot of mistake in cognition, the rational role idea is formed in my study; Secondly, guiding by role theory, the connotation and extension of teacher's role concept are discussed, which make the common character obvious and individuality clear, then the teacher' role is divided into three types : to-be type(tradition type), rhetoric type and intention type, selecting out the body model "propagating cardinal principles" and "imparting professional knowledge" and "solving puzzle "; Thirdly, "principle" and "profession" and "puzzle" are studied in order to reach the purpose of "putting new wine into old bottles" for satisfying demands of the system to element, which turns out that their characters are forward and vast; Finally, following history trajectory, the study provide a new connotation of "propagating cardinal principles" and "imparting professional knowledge" and "solving puzzle", discussing their relation, structure andfunction,------"propagating cardinal principles" refers to a kind of education to moralityindividual about universe enhancing the person spirit development, "imparting professional knowledge" refers to a kind of education to knowledge individual about culture and science and thought promoting the person society development, "solving puzzle" refers to a kind of education to cognition individual about growth and development improving the person psychological harmony. Besides, the teacher's role identification is analyzed simply, whose function is that some irrelevant contents are filtered and then the system of teacher's role is constructed in practice.Thus, the teacher's role is studied in not only logical deduction and theory deduction, but also realistic demands and practical check-out, this method makes the teacher's role rich and the back affection mechanism clear, the sustainable development to the teacher will certainly be of great benefit.
