At present, school choice in elementary and secondary education is the issue and social problem that many people pay more attention to in our country. The government issues an order to forbid the problem for many times. However, the action of school choice is more popular and the echo of the society is larger. For the sake of solving the problem, the author takes America as its research country, and the system of school choice in America has existed for many years and accumulated abundant experience. And form the school system under the government's encouragement and support, which instruct the development and reform of the US elementary education.The paper makes thorough research and the inspection on the school choice system of US, compares which with the present situation of our country's, attempts to obtain some reference from the part, and may get the inspiration and the help to the solution for our school choice in elementary education.The thesis has six sections: preface;Chapter One, the history of school choice of the two counties; Chapter Two, the comparative study for the conception between the two countries; Chapter Three, the comparative study for the conception school choice system between the two countries; Chapter Four, the effect of the school choice in the two countries; conclusion.Preface introduces the thesis'significance and researching method which are introduced in this part, and definitions for the important conceptions in this thesis.Part One introduces the history of school choice of the two counties. In order to make the China and America school choice development situation clearer, the author divides their history into several stages to narrate. Including embryonic, growing and developing period, finally formed a system by now; while school choice in China is considered as a educational phenomenon.Part Two is mainly carries on the comparative analysis to the conception between the two countries in school choice. It put forward the impact of research for educational opportunities'equality in school choice. America'school choice movement is illuminated by marketization, meanwhile, China'school choice conceptions are based on the consciousness of imperial civil service examination system in traditional culture and the only school record values in modern society.Part Three is mainly carries on the comparative analysis to the China and America school choice mechanism, their policy of government, requests of parents, modalities and ways of school choice included.
