Research On Improving The Work Of Student Evaluation Of Teaching In Institution Of Higher Education

The most people believe that student evaluation of teaching should play a positive role in quality evaluation of teaching. But its actual effect is not satisfying in our universities since 1980s.It becomes very valuable to research how to improve the work of student evaluation of teaching.This dissertation aims to provide some reference resources for other institutions of higher education based on research of improving the work of student evaluation of teaching in X University.Firstly, this dissertation collects the key problems exist in X University's work of student evaluation of teaching through the methods of interview and investigation. Then modify the form of student evaluation of teaching and test it. Secondly, modify and advance the work in accordance with the suggestions from parts of teaching leaders, teachers and students. Lastly, this dissertation discusses some considerable problems in the work of student evaluation of teaching.This dissertation works out the four major conclusions. The first, institutions of higher education need to make clear the purpose of developing the work; The second, the propaganda in the earlier stage of the work must be specific and effective, not just a slogan; The third, adopt different advise to devise the form of student evaluation of teaching; The fourth, the result of the evaluation should keep secret in some extent, in the meanwhile, institutions and departments need to feedback the true result to teachers, and take measures to help teachers improving their teaching in order to reduce the complaint of students.
