With the deepening of educational reform,how to construct a scientific and effective evaluation and monitoring system of educational quality in colleges and universities to ensure and improve the teaching quality in colleges and universities has attracted the general attention of the higher education community.As an important part of teaching evaluation and quality assurance,student evaluation of teaching plays an active role in improving teaching quality.After more than 40 years of development,student evaluation of teaching in Chinese universities is generally favored by universities,but there are still many problems in the process of student evaluation of teaching.On the basis of investigating the present situation of student evaluation of teaching in local colleges and universities,this study summarizes the problems existing student evaluation of teaching,analyzes its influencing factors,and tries to explore the optimization path of the system of student evaluation of teaching in colleges and universities.Firstly,this study defines the teaching evaluation and the concept of student evaluation of teaching,and puts forward the role and value of student evaluation of teaching.The student evaluation of teaching is an important means to ensure the quality of teaching in colleges and universities.The fundamental purpose of student evaluation is to develop students.Secondly,through questionnaires and interviews,this paper analyzes the present situation and existing problems of student evaluation of teaching in local colleges and universities.The lack of awareness of the purpose and function of student evaluation of teaching by stakeholders leads to slackness in participating in teaching evaluation.In the process of teaching evaluation,the number of teaching evaluation is less,the time of teaching evaluation is unreasonable,the way of teaching evaluation is single,and the enthusiasm of students to participate in teaching evaluation is too low.The update of the student evaluation scale is slow,the participation of teachers and students is insufficient,the evaluation index is slightly general,and the evaluation index less considers the students’ demands.The evaluation results are improved by emphasizing teacher management and teaching,and the feedback of evaluation results is insufficient.This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the influencing factors of college student evaluation of teaching from the concept,system,teachers,students and curriculum.Finally,the optimization paths are put forward in view of the problems existing in the evaluation of teaching in local colleges and universities,by analyzing the influencing factors of student evaluation of teaching and from the cognitive concept,implementation process,index system,application and feedback of student evaluation of teaching.The first path is to set up a “student development-oriented” view of student evaluation.The second is to improve the implementation of teaching evaluation process to achieve diversified student evaluation.The third is to perfect the index system of student evaluation of teaching in order to suit the characteristics of course teaching.The fourth is to improve the feedback system of student evaluation of teaching and to scientifically use the results of teaching evaluation.
