As a result of mutual influence between the teacher and the course, teacher's teaching ability has become a decisive and essential element to the value of the course and the accomplishment of its aim. Right now, in the process of implementing a new course, as the subject in the course of mathematics, how have math teacher's teaching ability getting along? What is the main element that exerts a tremendous influence of math teacher's teaching ability? How have the math teachers in the middle school develop their teaching abilities? It is quite necessary for us to make a thorough investigation and study to these questions.Firstly, this research has founded a concept of the teaching ability. Then, on the basis this concept, it investigates and studies the teaching ability of the math teacher in the middle school and their current situation by distributing questionnaires and by documents. After that, it analyzes the main questions and their contributing factors in the development of math teacher's teaching abilities. On the other hand, it expounds the quality of math teacher's teaching ability and the form of expression of it. Finally, this research has concluded the main element that influences math teacher's teaching ability.This research adopts method of the quality and advances along two roads. One road is my research into the teaching condition of teacher B, describing how he finds out the problems, defines the problems and solves the problems. The other road leads to the researcher, to me. It mainly describes the process of changes of my own teaching ability and my first-hand understanding by cooperating with the object of my study.This research is carried out by the founding four cases. The conclusion isThe main measures and means for math teachers in the middle school to develop their teaching ability are as follow:1.Deepen math teachers' consciousness and improve the ability of them.2.Practice of interaction in the math class ( including organized professional activity) is the chief means of forming math teachers' teaching ability.3.Reasearching action is the best means for math teachers to develop their teaching ability. 4.It is an important measure to take effective help and guide for math teachers to develop their teaching ability.
