Research Into The Construction And Application Of Multimedia Database For Language Learning And Teaching: Implementing Content-Based Scene Retrieval

In the era of information technology, the development of computer science has begun to pose increasing impact on language learning and teaching. On the one hand, the volume of digital visual-audio material soars in the last few decades, which provides a wider range of selection of resources usable in the process of language learning. On the other hand, newly emerged technologies provide sufficient means of organizing these resources to realize specific language learning and learning theories.Integrableware theory is the new generation of theory which is expected to guide the research and practice of CALL. The efficiency of multimedia database supported by high-performance computer hardware is rapidly improving. Content-Based Retrieval is in the process of advancing towards maturity.
