As a new kind of modern instruction method, Multimedia Computer-Assisted Instruction (MCAI) has been a research focus in educational technology and subject teaching areas. Current English courseware mainly focuses on the whole teaching process and can not be used well in class teaching. Some researches have indicated that multimedia integrableware can remedy this defect of courseware for its characteristics such as primitives and flexibility, and greatly improve class teaching efficiency. Therefore, it has important realistic significances to bring integrableware theory in English class teaching and design an integrableware system for primary English to change the traditional MCAI and to improve the teaching efficiency.According to the analysis of present situation and problems of Computer-Assisted English Leaning, the author proposes a design scheme of multimedia integrableware system for primary English under the guidance of relative theories such as integrableware theory and so on. On this basis, the author develops the system and applies it to practical teaching. In order to find the best approach to apply multimedia integrableware to primary English class teaching, the author also makes a comprehensive analysis and reflection of the effects and problems in teaching,Main contents of this paper are as follows: In the first chapter, the author firstly analyzes the background,present research situation all over the world and some related concepts of this research. On this basis, the author elucidates the research objectives,contents,significances and methods of this paper.The second part contains some related theories and their directing roles in this research. At the same time, the author introduces related techniques and guiding principles that will be used in designation and development of this system.The third chapter is the systematic designation of multimedia integrableware system. In combination with the characteristics and actual needs of primary English class teaching, the author designs a structural chart of multimedia integrableware system for primary English, and introduces its main models and designation in detailed.The forth chapter is the development of this system. Combined with related knowledge points in 4th volume textbook of primary English, the author respectively expounds the realization process of integrableware base and platform. She also makes a comprehensive analysis and study on the problems that appeared in the realization process and some correlation matters. Thus the application of multimedia integrableware theory in computer-assisted English learning area is initially achieved.In the last chapter, the author applies this system to practical teaching, and analyzes practice situation and problems that occurred in practical teaching. She also summarizes some matters needing attention. On this basis, the author makes a further reflection of problems and deficiencies that existed in this research and tries to put forward the further research work.
