Research And Design Of Multimedia Database In Network Based On Distance Education

In recent years, the Internet becomes the focus of the computer network, communication and the information field. Along with the development of network technique, match with multimedia technique, the distance education represent the direction trend and future of the education, the education material database have become the core of the development with network education.Our system is supported by a strong background multimedia database and has several characteristic query methods. It integrates various of dynamic query technologies of the single-condition query, multi-condition combination query, directory tree navigating query, and with a individual material database for every user. Background multimedia material database can self-expanded during interactive operating with web users time after time.This paper discusses the features and technologies of the web-based multimedia material database system. Our study emphasized on the next several aspects:1. Based with the Browse/Server mode's system construction. According to the design objective of the system, the author gives the hierarchy designing scheme and working flow, then introduces the accessing technology of web database, and points out special features and creativity of the paper.2. Design and realization of the multi-media material database. The paper discusses designing steps of the multimedia material database, gives a data model and introduces improvement and optimization based on it. The database supports multimedia information such as image, audio and video well.3 . Design and implementation of the multimedia material database's maintenance system. The system includes two parts: One is based on traditional C/S structure, orients SA, is for the database. The other is based on B/S structure, orients web user, is for the user of the multimedia material database's maintenance. The system applies kinds of multimedia processing technology and can handle multimedia data of the multimedia material database.4. Establishing of Web server and multimedia material website. It tells how to fitting the IIS for optimizing the function of Web server function, then introduce the website's total construction of multi-media material and related technique.5. The design of dynamic link library. The system's dynamic link library encapsulates a series of function including database's call, clusters construction, thrice catalogue constructions tree, building the HTML code of the tree, etc.6. Technologies of Web query and Dynamic web pages. The paper explains how to enhance performances of asp program, realizing single-condition query, multi-condition combination query and directory tree navigating query. Finally the paper gives technique point of the three query methods.7. Uploading design and realization of the multimedia material. This system includes two methods to uploads user materials: one is batching upload, the other is WEB uploading. It carries special module for each upload method.
