The thesis makes a research on audiences'habits of picking up Olympic Games reports by literary reviewing, interviewing the experts, assaying the results with statistical technique of the questionnaires given out in six representative cities in China to 2400 audiences about their habits of picking programs and choosing of readings of Olympic Games reports. The results show there are certain rules of audiences'habits and the characteristics of their habits are quite obvious. They always choose various ways to get information of the Games in comparatively fixed time; their requirements of Olympic Games reports vary to each other; they thirst for communications with the media and most of them express their willingness of getting information of the Games through mobile messages.After reading lots of materials related to Olympic Games reports, the present writer finds there are eights problems in domestic and foreign medias when reporting on Olympic Games. They are nationalism which greatly violates the Olympic Games doctrine; overstating which may exert bad influence; overemphasizing the golden medal winners and ignoring other participants; reporters'lack of professional knowledge and ethics which may result in inappropriate questions in interview; reporters'lack of good master of foreign languages and rules of the game; false reports which can not be prevented; too many advertisements during the reports; and too many similar questions and too much alike comments in various medias. Various medias have their own reasons for existence in market and cannot replace each other because of their respective advantages and disadvantages.The 29th Olympic Games will be held in China in 2008, which may bring great changes in the reporting environments.
