The external floating population plays an important role in this process, of which the author makes a systematic investigation by means of on-the-spot survey and statistical data. The study result is as follows:Firstly, as one of the motivators of non-agriculture development in Quanzhou city , the influx of the external floating population has met great demand for labor forces needed by the township and village enterprises (TVEs) and foreign-funded enterprises.
