Abstract/Summary:
The 21st Century is an age that talents are urgently needed. Personality education has become the fundamental guidelines to a nation's development and reform of education system. Nowadays, quality education carried out by our country provides students with opportunities to develop their personality or individuality .The essence of quality education is the personality education. Carrying out personality education policy is a way to realize quality education. Then what's the relationship between history teaching and personality education? Whether history teaching will promote students' integrated skills and develop their spontaneous and creativeness are the most important problems that educators should face.The thesis comprises five parts. In part one, it is devoted to the definition of personality, connotation and principles of personality education and the background of advocating it. It also talks about the necessity and importance of personality education. In part two, the author analyzes the values and characteristics of personality education in history teaching, indicating that it has its own advantages to carry out personality education in history discipline .In part three, she discusses the present situation of history teaching .In part four, she puts forward some strategies for us to promote students' personalities. In part five, she comes to a conclusion that promoting students' personality development should be the core of history discipline in the 21st century.
