| In this knowledge based economy times, learning has become human's life-long necessity. Therefore, it is an aim of our basic education to cause students to study independently and foster the habit and ability to life-long study. Geography textbooks remain the major base of geography teaching. It is the era's requirement to embody self-study features in geography textbook, in order to help students study independently and increase their life-long learning ability. This thesis mainly discusses how to embody self-study features in geography textbook in senior high school. In the first chapter, the connotation, significance, research status and theory foundations are particularly introduced, and then how to embody the self-study features in the editing procedure, column design and presentation have been explored accordingly. The editing procedure is analyzed from longitudinal and latitudinal dimensions and proposes its design strategy of seven aspects: objective, organizer, the organization of content, homework, reflection, direction and activities. For the part of column design, the thesis proposes the design strategy of embodying self-study features based on the analyses of the textbooks. And for the part of presentation, the thesis has discussed there should be interesting lead-in, understandable expression and effective graphic design in textbooks for self-study. At last, the thesis concludes the result of the research and proposes the questions for further research. |
