The basic ideas of the new curriculum reform are for the Chinese national rejuvenationand every student's development. History education plays the most important part indeveloping the nation's spirits and enhancing the nation's responsibility. So theresponsibilities that the history teachers undertake are much more difficult. In order to changethe history condition which is not welcomed and realize the magnificent purpose, our historyteachers should work harder than before. It is our responsibility to awaken the history teacherprofessional development consciousness and enhance the ability of developing by themselves.This paper develops from the real needs of the present curriculum reform for teachers'professionalization. I have read a great number of papers about teacher professionaldevelopment, and summed up the present domestic and overseas researches. This thesis is astudy of theory and practice of teacher self-development. By analyzing the situation ofHistory-teacher professional development, it tries to find an effective road to improve historyteachers' professional self-development, and it analyzes the objective elements and givesadvice on the teacher professional self-development.
